of any sort in the medical industry, yes the university system is really your only choice, you are simply locked out otherwise, but even then, you can bypass half of it, the most learning intensive half, and start practicing almost right away in the Armed Forces and learn the old fashioned way, it sucks for the patients but in the long run for the learner it delivers the same outcome. But that is not representativ of the university system, medical industry is a small portion of an economy, and even within subsets of the medical industry or adjacent industries, there are certifications that are not earned via universities that must be accomplished in order for employers to know that the employee has the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience to do what a position requires at a basic level. College degrees where supposed to provide that, but really have not for probably at least 30 years, even more so during this new information age. They are rooted in the past and are not keeping up because they do not serve student interests, they serve their own first.
